Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance

Aim of course

Maintenance, repair and technical service are significant since they affect lifetime of milling machines and ensure them to work non-stop at desired levels. This course covers crucial mechanical and electrical maintenance aspects of machines and elements that can be found in a typical feed mill. Participants will be able to understand fundamental principles of maintaining key equipment and processes. Moreover, they will get familiar with maintenance software for grain processing plants.

Topics

  • Grinding:
    wear and tear aspects at hammer & roller mills; feeder, change of elements, lubrication, etc.
  • Mixing:
    spray system maintenance, replacing of worn parts, lubrication, weighing & dosing units, micro-dosing,
    load cells, etc.
  • Pelleting:
    motor alignment, shear pin disassembly, lubrication, roll gap adjustment, die & roller change, conditioner, retentioner, cooler maintenance, etc.
  • Mechanical conveying:
    screw & trough chain conveyer, bucket elevator
  • Miscellaneous: magnets, sieves, valves, flaps, filter, separator, sensors & actors, frequency converters.

  • In all sections: troubleshooting and hands-on

Payment is due at the latest 6 weeks prior to the beginning of the course.
