As 2023 draws to a close, we can look back on an exciting and successful year for SFT and our course participants. This year, we welcomed over 300 course participants from 44 countries who were eager to learn and experienced exciting course days and fun social events with them.

We are happy to share with you the most memorable highlights for the SFT:

The on-site course in Australia at Weston Animal Nutrition with focus on pellet quality improvement. To ensure that the 3-day course was tailored precisely to the customer’s needs, our instructor Alex Ammann visited the plant on site before the course began and structured the course program accordingly. Thanks to the pellet analyses during the course, the customer was able to optimize the parameter settings on the pressing lines and achieve top pellet quality.

The Executive Course was held in collaboration with the African Milling School at the training center in Nairobi, Kenya. The focus was on understanding the compound feed process as well as various practical trials on the pellet press with subsequent quality control of the pellets. The 4-day course was successfully completed with the presentation of the course certificate.

The Diploma Course “SMS goes SFT”: Is an exclusive offer for SMS graduates thanks to the cooperation between Swiss Milling School St. Gallen (SMS) and the Swiss Institute of Feed Technology (SFT). This gives participants the opportunity to obtain the diploma as Feed Production Engineer in addition to their SMS Diploma. We are proud to announce that all 6 participants received their certificates on Friday, October 13, 2023. Even the oldest participant in SFT history, Charles Wanjau from Kenya, received the SFT Diploma at the age of 59. “He is the embodiment of lifelong learning and an inspiration to all of us.” said Managing Director, Lothar Driller as presented his diploma.

The customized courses, the courses at the training center in Uzwil and the courses on site at the customer’s feed mill are also part of the success. More and more customers are relying on long-term, structured training for their employees and are already booking courses for next year, which speaks for the quality of SFT courses.

We would like to thank you for your trust and we are looking forward to the coming year with new course participants, new challenges and happy faces.
